Rom. 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

The Word of God compares the human body to the Body of Christ. The human body was created in the image of God. The Body of Christ is being created in the image of Jesus Christ. ( 2 Cor. 3:18)

• No one knows how many cells there are in a human body. Estimates range from ten trillion to 100 trillion. You will find a diagram of a cell to on the right side of the page. The cell is the fundamental building block of life. If you destroy or remove any part of the cell it is no longer alive. Imagine for a moment the impossibility of constructing a machine that was made up of between 10 and 100 trillion interconnected engines, each requiring an individual fuel and oxygen supply and its own exhaust line that was hooked into an exhaust header that shared the same manifold as the oxygen intake. This is in fact what God has done with one Human Body. Any engineer that tried to design such a machine would spend his entire lifetime in the effort. If you ever saw such a machine you would think it was so marvelous that if anyone would tell you it was just built by CHANCE and BLIND LUCK you would say they were daft. Why then would anyone ever believe that the Human Body came into existence through any natural means. Anyone who thinks such a thing is void of reason and incapable of analytic thought. The only possible explanation for such a belief is that those who believe it do not like to keep God in their knowledge and have been turned over to a reprobate mind.

Just as God designed and built the human body, Jesus has designed and is building the Spiritual Body of His Church. We are all members of of one body. There is plenty of room left in the Body of Christ for the individual cells of all kinds of organs and members. Even though there are uncountable spaces for each individual cell in the Human body, it is still only One Body. I believe this is also true concerning the Body of Christ.

Eph. 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

The Christian Faith is divided into over twenty thousand sects and denominations today and what we are seeing is not the fragmentation of the spiritual body, but the association of all the tongues together, and all the feet together, and all the hands together, and all the eyes together, AND HARDLY ANY OF IT CONTROLLED BY THE HEAD OF JESUS CHRIST. However, since it is Jesus who is building the church (Matt. 16:18), it must be being done properly even though it seems to be in a mess to us.
